Hacken ohne Resultat
Wieder mal erfolglos probiert, ein richtiges CRUX Source-Package zu machen für OpenOffice.org. Irgendwas funktioniert aber mit den Patches von Ximian nicht genau so wie ich es mir vorstelle, und der versucht dauernd alte Versionen von gcc, binutils und J2SDK runterzuladen, obwohl meine installierten Versionen auch funktionierten.… Continued

DrWright weiss es besser
Im Rahmen meiner Gnome Installations Tour habe ich auch DrWright installiert, da es in CRUX als Gnome-Package eingetragen ist. Inzwischen möchte ich es nicht mehr missen. DrWright ist, wie der Vorgänger Xwrits, ein Tool, welches nach einer einstellbaren Arbeitszeit den Bildschirm sperrt, so dass man eine Arbeitspause einlegen muss.… Continued

Hab gar keine Lust, irgendwas für die Prüfungen von nächster Woche zu tun. Viel lieber verbringe ich die Zeit mit dbFdW und am PC, wie üblich. Hoffentlich klappt es trotzdem in BWL und Englisch!

Frust mit Tablet PCs
Da hat man einen alten Tablet PC (PII 266, 64MB RAM, 1024×768 TFT) aus der Konkursmasse eines namenlosen Anbieters (im BIOS steht Digital Logic) ersteigert, und versucht Linux zu installieren. Vorinstalliert ist ein unlizenziertes Windows 2000 – auf dieser Hardware natürlich viel zu langsam.… Continued

crux.lugs.ch is now online, we already have over 130 packages.
Another thing I’ve spent my time on is a kernel patch for custom boot logos. You can download it here for 2.4.17. It allows you to place any ppm image in /usr/src/linux/Documentation/boot_logo.ppm and the image will be compiled into the kernel.… Continued -

Online! Well, I’ve been back online for a week or so now. If you want to know more about how I finally managed to make to actually do something you can read it on Symlink (german). Well, and I’ve moved my CRUX packages to crux.lugs.ch where we plan to establish a package repository for all packages.
