    Bought it from a Japanese eBay seller. Worked well, except that Docomo somehow failed to properly unlock the phone, and the simlock came back on after an Android reset. Had to send it back to Japan, just got it back a couple days ago, and it’s now simlock-free across resets.

    It’s running ICS (4.0.4) out of the box, an upgrade to Jelly Bean (4.1 or 4.2) is in the making, should be released by Sony soon, according to rumours. There’s no custom firmware yet that I was able to find, but it’s rootable and a special version of CWM can be installed. You’ll find more using Google and a Japanese translator *g*
