RainStor (formerly known as Clearpace) released version 4 of its Data Archival product, announcing it as RainStor 4 Addresses ‘Big Data’ Retention and Retrieval for Compliance and Data Governance across Industry Sectors. We looked at Clearpace 2.5 years back and they didn’t fare too bad, compared to the competition. Interest may rise again, as our long term data archiving (some people call this the operational archive, as opposed to the regulatory archive) problem is still not solved, and customers are asking us to keep more and more data for a longer time.
